Welcome! The City of Bonita Springs owns and operates an extensive stormwater management system within the City of Bonita Springs. The system is designed to mitigate flooding, protect individual and personal property, manage water quality of receiving waters, and comply with regulatory requirements. The City of Bonita Springs is conducting a storm water utility feasibility study to evaluate establishing a stormwater utility to provide a dedicated funding source for the management of the storm water system.
In November 2012, the City adopted the Imperial River Basin Management Action Plan in conjunction with the state of Florida to improve water quality in the Imperial River. Recently, the City experienced significant flooding in the summer of 2017 with the onset of Invest 92L and hurricane Irma. These events emphasized the need to study the existing stormwater infrastructure and identify any challenges that may be present.
We invite you to explore this website to LEARN MORE about the Stormwater Utility Study. Three WORKSHOPS are scheduled to provide residents with information about the Stormwater Utility Study and to collect information about stormwater issues in the City. Program documents and maps are available to review in the ARCHIVES & INFORMATION.
